- Buena Onda Spanish School cannot guarantee exam success and is not responsible for a student’s progress or exam performance.
- Students with medical conditions or learning disabilities must inform the school prior to the start of their course so that we can make reasonable accommodations to support their learning needs.

GENERAL
Private lessons consist of one-on-one personalized tutoring tailored to each student’s needs. Lessons are typically one hour long; however, session duration may vary based on individual requirements.
Classes can be conducted online or in person at the tutor’s office.
Lessons are sold in packages of four, scheduled based on mutual availability between the student and the tutor.

Private lessons must be paid in advance in packages of four lessons, on a rolling basis.

Enrolment Process
To start one-on-one lessons, students can book a free trial lesson here or by emailing buenaonda.escuela@gmail.com
During this initial session, the tutor will assess the student’s level, discuss their learning goals, and determine course details, including the start date, duration, learning material, frequency, etc.

We offer a complimentary 30-minute online trial lesson to introduce our teaching method, assess language proficiency, and address any questions.

Scheduling lessons & frequency
Lessons are scheduled based on mutual availability between the student and the tutor. Please note that the tutor operates on UK time (GMT/BST).
Before purchasing lessons, students are encouraged to confirm available time slots via email at buenaonda.escuela@gmail.com.
We kindly request two weeks’ notice if a student plans to take a break for holidays or an extended period longer than one week.
Re-scheduling lessons
If a student needs to reschedule a lesson, they must contact the tutor via email or WhatsApp with as much notice as possible.
Lessons must be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice on working days. If notice is given on a weekend or public holiday, it will be processed on the next working day.
Lessons canceled with less than 24 working-day hours’ notice will be considered completed and deducted from the lesson package.
Late show up / absences
- Lessons begin and end at the agreed-upon time, regardless of when the student joins.
- If a student anticipates being late, they should notify the tutor via WhatsApp or email as soon as possible.
- If a student fails to attend the lesson without prior notice, the session will be considered completed and deducted from their package.
- In the rare event that the tutor is unable to conduct a scheduled lesson due to unforeseen circumstances, the student will be notified as soon as possible to reschedule.
Learning Material
- Some courses may require students to purchase a specific textbook.
- Additional learning materials are included in the course price.
- Students may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any course materials without permission.
Refund Policy
- Private lessons are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Cooling-Off Period: For online bookings and services purchased at a distance (e.g., via email), students have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel the booking and receive a full refund, provided that the service has not already been fully provided. If the first lesson is held within this 14-day period, the cooling-off period will be considered void.
- If a student has unused lessons and decides to discontinue classes, no full or partial refund will be issued for the remaining sessions unless the service provided does not meet the expectations described or is of unsatisfactory quality (as per the Consumer Rights Act 2015).
- Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if the lessons do not match the description provided, are of unsatisfactory quality, or are not fit for their intended purpose, students have the right to request a refund.
- If a student feels that the course does not meet their expectations or the description provided, they are entitled to contact us via email at buenaonda.escuela@gmail.com within 30 days of the lesson and request a refund. A full investigation will be carried out to assess the issue.
- Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment and within 14 days from the resolution of the investigation.
We reserve the right to modify this refund policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated to you prior to booking or as part of the booking process.
Discontinuing Lessons
Students may discontinue lessons at any time. However, we kindly request a minimum of two weeks’ notice to allow for proper scheduling adjustments.
Notice must be provided in writing via email, WhatsApp, or text message to the tutor.
Lesson Package Expiry
Lesson packages must be used within three months of the purchase date. If you are unable to complete your lessons within this period due to illness or other exceptional circumstances, please contact us to discuss potential extensions. If no contact is made within this timeframe, any unused lessons will expire.

General
Private group Spanish lessons are customized language classes for a small, pre-selected group of students, such as friends, family members, or colleagues. If you do not have a group, we can pair you with a suitable one. These lessons provide a personalized learning experience, allowing students to focus on shared goals, a flexible schedule, and their preferred learning pace. Group lessons require a minimum of two and a maximum of four students.
Lessons are scheduled according to the availability of both the students and the tutor.
Payment is made upfront, in packages of four lessons, on a rolling basis.
Location
Group lessons can take place:
- Online via Google Meet
- At local cafés
- At the tutor’s office
Please confirm the location with the tutor via email or WhatsApp before booking.
Timetable & Lesson Frequency
- Two-student groups: Lessons typically follow a semi-fixed schedule but may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice on working days. Lessons are scheduled in four-week cycles based on the tutor’s and students’ availability.
- Three- and four-student groups: Lessons run on a fixed schedule, agreed upon by all students and the tutor at the start of the course.
If a lesson falls on a public holiday or the tutor is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, the tutor will propose three alternative dates for rescheduling.

- Free Trial Lesson: The tutor will contact you to arrange a free 30-minute trial lesson to assess your level and ensure the best group placement.
Free Trial Lesson
We offer a free trial lesson to get to know each other, assess your level, provide personalized guidance, and answer any questions you may have about our courses. This session helps ensure our lessons align with your learning goals and expectations.
This meeting consists of a free 30-minute-videochat to be hold on Google Meet.
Prices
Lesson prices depend on the number of students in the group. More students mean a lower cost per person:

Late Show Up / Absence
- Lessons begin and end at the scheduled time, regardless of when a student arrives.
- If a student is absent, the lesson will still take place for the remaining students.
- If you anticipate being late or missing a class, please notify the tutor via WhatsApp or email as soon as possible.
Discontinuing Lessons
If you are unable to continue attending, please provide at least two weeks’ notice so we can reorganize the group. Notice can be given via email or WhatsApp.
Refund Policy
- Group courses are generally non-refundable and non-transferable. If you discontinue lessons with unused classes remaining, no full or partial refund will be issued, unless the service provided does not meet the description, is of unsatisfactory quality, or is not fit for its intended purpose under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- If you feel the course does not meet your expectations or the description provided, please contact us at buenaonda.escuela@gmail.com within 30 days of the lesson. We will investigate the matter, and if necessary, provide a refund or alternative remedy within 14 days of resolving the issue.
- Cooling-Off Period: For services purchased online or at a distance, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund, provided no classes have been delivered. If the first lesson is held within this 14-day period, the cooling-off period will be void.

Our workshops are group sessions with a fixed start and end date, designed to focus on achieving a specific language objective.
All bookings for workshops are subject to availability. Please note that workshops may require a minimum of students to take place.
Location
Workshops can be held either online or in-person. The location details will be clearly communicated prior to booking the course.
Timetable & Duration
The schedule and duration, including times and dates for each workshop, will be provided ahead of time. Should you have any questions, please contact us via email or WhatsApp for clarification.
Enrolment process.
To join one of our group courses or workshops, please complete the pre-enrolment form available on our website.
Once submitted, the tutor will assess your suitability for the course and get in touch to finalize your enrolment.
Please note that if a group does not meet the minimum requirement, the workshop will be cancelled, and you will receive a full refund.

Re-Scheduling
Workshops are scheduled for a specific date and time and cannot be rescheduled.
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel or reschedule the workshop, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer you the choice of:
- A full refund.
- A transfer to a future workshop. The tutor will propose three alternative dates for the session. Students can choose the most suitable option.
You will be entitled to a full refund if you choose not to attend a rescheduled workshop.
Late show up / absences
Workshops will start and end at the scheduled times. If you fail to attend the workshop, no refund will be issued, unless the workshop is canceled by us or the service is not provided as described. We advise you to check your availability before booking and ensure that you can attend the workshop.
If you anticipate being late or unable to attend, please notify us as soon as possible. We may consider rescheduling in exceptional cases, but this will be subject to availability and at our discretion.
Refund Policy
- Cooling-Off Period: for bookings made online or at a distance (e.g., via email or our website), you have the right to cancel your booking within 14 days of payment for a full refund, provided the workshop has not already started. If the workshop begins within this 14-day period, the cooling-off period will be void.
- Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you are entitled to a refund if the service (workshop) you receive is not as described, of satisfactory quality, or fit for its intended purpose.
- If you believe that the workshop did not meet the standards described or agreed upon, you have the right to contact us within 30 days from the workshop date to request a refund.
- Refunds, if applicable, will be processed within 14 days of the cancellation or refund request being confirmed.
- Refunds will be issued via the same method of payment used for booking the workshop.

COMPLAINTS/DISPUTES
Student success and satisfaction is very important for us. If you wish to make a complaint or a suggestion, you can send us an email to buenaonda.escuela@gmail.com indicating the reason of your dissatisfaction. We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 7 days and aim to resolve the issue within 14 days. If further investigation is needed, we will inform you of the timeline for resolution.
If you feel that your concern has not been adequately addressed, you may contact the UK’s Consumer Ombudsman or another appropriate body for further assistance.
RIGHT OF ADMISSION AND PERMANENCE
We reserve the right of admission and permanence on our courses, both online and in person.
If a student engages in abusive, hateful, discriminatory, or disruptive behavior, we will first issue a warning outlining the unacceptable behavior and offering the opportunity to correct it. Expulsion from the course will only occur if the behavior persists or is severe, and will be done in accordance with our code of conduct and fair procedures. Expulsion will result in the immediate cessation of lessons, with no right to a refund or compensation.
We are committed to providing an inclusive, respectful, and non-discriminatory environment for all students. Any action taken against a student will be done in full compliance with the Equality Act 2010, ensuring that no individual is unfairly discriminated against based on their protected characteristics.
